Until the 1980's the farm had historically grown avocados, and in 2016 we made the decision to return to avocado production. Since then, the farm has planted over 80 hectares of drip irrigated Hass avocados and a small area of Fuerte avocados. Our plans are to continue this expansion into 200 hectares over the next 5 years.
“We target the perfect dry matter content to ensure an even ripening process and a unique taste. Our avocados are not only sustainable, but delicious too. From wholesale to the end consumer, and everyone in between, we know that anyone eating our avocados will love the experience."
Consistent with our core value of environmental responsibility, we have embarked on a water harvesting project using the rainwater run-off from our rose greenhouses for avocado irrigation, thus completely reducing our dependency on the rivers in the area and saving millions of litres of water per year. As a company we are devoted to becoming better and more sustainable everyday, and we have set our goal to become carbon neutral by 2023.
