It is impossible to think that we can produce a top quality product without caring for the people who are behind the production process. Nor can you be proud of your product if you have caused damage to the environment whilst producing it.
Our human resource is our biggest asset. Mutual respect between management and employees is the basis of our success. This means that we always follow the labour laws of the country and the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the flower industry. But at Mount Elgon Orchards we want to go beyond that. Our strong corporate social responsibility activities serve not only our employees and their families but the entire community around us.
Our other important assets are the water supply and the quality of the soil on the farm. The farm is located in a beautiful area of Kenya. We are wholly committed to protect our environment where ever we can.
Developing sustainable solutions for water supply , soil preparation , pest management and fertigation is an integral part of the activities on the farm.
Recycling of as many waste products as possible is a challenge we happily take on.
The commitment to running a flower farm in Africa in a responsible way is reflected in the many accreditation the company has obtained and in the numerous projects of the Mount Elgon Trust that have been developed over the years.
